Forman Law Firm, P.C.

Headquartered in Tyler, Texas, Forman Law Firm, P.C. also maintains offices in Austin, Texas. Bryan Forman, the founder of the Forman Law Firm, P.C., has been a licensed Texas attorney since 1987. Mr. Forman holds a J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from The University of Texas/Austin.

Mr. Forman began his career with the Dallas firm of Godwin, Carlton & Maxwell (now Godwin Lewis P.C.), where he served in the commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and corporate securities sections. Mr. Forman left Goodwin Carlton and founded an NASD-registered Broker-Dealer. For the 12 years following, he served as Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board, and General Counsel for broker dealers that he founded in both Dallas and Austin.  Mr. Forman also maintained extensive board and committee involvement in the National Association of Securities Dealers (now known as Financial Industry Regulatory Authority or FINRA). After profitably selling his interest in the brokerage firms he founded, Mr. Forman returned to his hometown of Tyler and to the practice of law.  Mr. Forman created a boutique law practice focused on litigation, arbitration, and mediation for the securities and financial markets.

He received approval as an arbitrator and mediator for FINRA and several other regulatory authorities in the commodities and securities markets.  Additionally, Mr. Forman is credentialed by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association, and has mediated more than 200 cases nationwide during his career.

Mr. Forman is or has been a member in good standing of the Supreme Court of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas. His practice currently encompasses a wide spectrum of areas, including various types of commercial and shareholder litigation, with special emphasis on matters involving insurance, securities, financial institutions, and broker dealer fraud.

Skelton Woody and Hamp Skelton

Skelton & Woody represents clients in the Austin-San Antonio region, as well as throughout Texas and the nation. Mr. Hamp Skelton began his career in Houston and has always maintained a strong practice before state and federal courts in Harris County and greater Houston. In recent years, the firm's clients have brought Hamp Skelton in as lead counsel to try cases in Houston, Dallas, El Paso, and Midland. Our firm also frequently works on cases filed in some small jurisdictions known to be difficult for out-of-town defendants, including Cleburne (Johnson County), Decatur (Wise County), Edinburg (Hidalgo County), Brownsville (Cameron County), as well as a number of counties in East Texas.

While our practice focuses on Texas, Hamp Skelton's record of winning difficult cases and appeals has led his clients to retain the firm on must-win cases far from Skelton & Woody's home base in Austin. In the last decade, Hamp Skelton has defended major companies in class action suits filed in 30 states, including California, New York, New Jersey, and Florida. We also represented clients in high-dollar litigation in Oklahoma courts as well as difficult jurisdictions like Barbour County, Alabama.

Mr. Skelton is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Princeton University cum laude in 1978 with a degree in history, and received his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law, with honors, in 1981. Upon graduating, he joined Vinson & Elkins in Houston and practiced in its antitrust and commercial litigation section. He moved to Austin in 1986, becoming partner in charge of litigation at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld's Austin office. His present law office opened in September, 1991.

Mr. Skelton is a member of the state bars of Texas and Georgia, the United States Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. His practice encompasses a wide spectrum of litigation areas, with experience in coverage litigation, insurance regulatory litigation, lender liability, consumer protection/deceptive trade, securities fraud, racketeering, director and officer liability, and intellectual property.
