Failure to Follow Directions

Generally, a broker has a duty to follow your instructions regarding the entry and execution of orders, and failure to follow your instructions in a timely manner will violate industry rules, and will further operate as a breach of fiduciary duty. If you direct your broker to buy or sell a certain security, and the order is not carried out in the manner it should have been, the broker has violated duties owed to you and can be held liable for the resulting losses and damages.
